The 2024 Narooma Oyster Festival Outcomes provides a comprehensive summary of the festival’s success, including key highlights, demographics and drivers for visitors along with the oyster and food and beverage industries.

Attendance

More than 8,700 people attended the festival - 86% were from outside the Narooma region, drawn primarily from Sydney, Canberra and Illawarra

Oysters

63,000 oysters were consumed in 12.5 hours and our Zero Hero Volunteers saved 1.02 tonnes of oyster shells from landfil

Economic

$4,048,540 was injected into the local economy with a Value Add of $2,067,320 and the creation of 29 FTE jobs

We broke the world record for the heaviest oyster (our winner 'Jill' weighed in at 3.02kg) which was syndicated nationally by ABC and ABC News 24
