Cath Peachey, Chair

Cath has been involved in the delivery of the Narooma Oyster Festival since 2012 and was a founding Director of Australia’s Oyster Coast Ltd. Cath has also been a member of the South Coast Regional Tourism Organisation Board, the Eurobodalla Shire Council’s Tourism Advisory Committee and the Narooma Chamber of Commerce Executive. Cath brings broad industry and government experience, particularly in preventative health including as CEO of DrinkWise Australia, and various roles in Federal Minister’s offices, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and the federal Health portfolio. Cath holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Lindsay Brown, Company Secretary

Lindsay Brown is a long-time Narooma resident, retired businessman, Emeritus Mayor, former Councillor of the Eurobodalla Shire Council and community volunteer. Lindsay is an experienced company director and served on several not-for-profit, non-government and member based organisations in Finance, Superannuation, Arts and Aboriginal Health. Lindsay is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees and is currently Executive Officer of FairBreak Foundation UK.

Tim Gilbo

Tim Gilbo is an engineer and economist and a former World Bank Representative to Malawi and Botswana. Tim is currently Managing Director of South Coast Seaplanes which provides a range of tourism experiences to Narooma and on the South Coast more broadly, particularly targeting high value international and domestic visitors.

Mark Condi

Mark Condi is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Duxton Pubs. Previously Mark has been the Group General Manager – Commercial for Merivale, and CEO at Bankstown Sports Club, one of the largest registered clubs in the country, initially joining the company in 1992 and celebrating just over 30 years, working in various roles, including Assistant CEO for ten years and Gaming Manager for six years. During his career at Bankstown Sports, Mark led a strong diversification strategy, developing over 24 restaurants and bars, a brewery, a conference centre and the Mercure Hotel Bankstown expansion. Most recently, Mark led the development of a commercial office tower, the Flinders Centre Bankstown, with 12,500 square metres of lettable space and created the Lady Banks Rooftop bar and restaurant. Mark has a Bachelor of Business and an MBA and attended the prestigious Kellogg Business School in Chicago and completed an advanced management course. Mark has served on multiple Boards, including the startup e-wholesale company ClubCo and the Charity Little Wings.

Mark Harris

Mark Harris’s background spans natural resource and catchment management and conservation, environmental consultation and more recently oyster farming. By way of his professional background and recent endeavours into oyster farming, Mark understands the challenges of consistently cultivating top-tier oysters while making a living; and brings a fresh set of eyes to oyster growing techniques, unbiased by any particular way of farming. Mark began a small scale oyster farming operation in 2019, supplying local customers and Sydney-based wholesalers. Located mainly on the Wagonga Inlet sandflat, the lease yields high-quality oysters which have earned awards at Sydney Royal Fine Food Show and other competitions.

David Maidment

David Maidment has been farming oysters in Wagonga Inlet, near Narooma, on the south coast of NSW since 1979, retiring in 2018. He has a Diploma of Agriculture, post graduate diploma in Aquaculture, is a Churchill Fellow and has been heavily involved in the oyster industry at both strategic and operational levels. He operated an on-farm hatchery which has been instrumental in reintroducing flat oysters (Ostrea angasi) to NSW, on which he is regarded as a global expert. David was also a founding Director of Australia’s Oyster Coast Ltd retiring from the Board in June 2019. Working with Department Primary Industries, Fisheries, Eurobodalla Shire Council, Nature Conservancy on reef restoration work in Tasmania, South Australia and Narooma.

Jenny Barrett

Jenny brings decades of project management experience to the table, with an interest in business case development, consumer advocacy, stakeholder engagement and government relations. She is currently Manager Local Government for Transport NSW and has specialist experience in regional outreach in Transport, Energy, Health, Local Government and Education.

Michael Gardner

Michael has been involved with tourism in the Eurobodalla for the last 15 years and the Narooma Oyster Festival for the last seven years. Michael also takes an active role in bringing car clubs to Narooma for events and has recently partnered with Narooma Charters to promote and run tours to Montague Island.
